With the support of the Hello, Ukraine charitable foundation, an international USFL street football tournament was held in Lviv on 4 October 2025, bringing together young people from different parts of Ukraine. The event was a striking example of how sport can be a powerful tool for social integration and support in times of war.

The participants included both local residents and internally displaced persons from different regions of the country. For many of them, sport became not only a competition for victory, but also an opportunity to make new friends and feel a sense of unity. The atmosphere of the tournament was filled with positive energy, mutual support and genuine sporting enthusiasm.

CHARITABLE SUPPORT AND PARTNERSHIP

The tournament was held with the financial support of the Hello, Ukraine Charitable Foundation, which donated 15,000 hryvnias for prizes for the winning teams to another charitable foundation, Bez Paniky, which purchased the prizes. Hello, Ukraine constantly and systematically cooperates with the Bez Paniky Charitable Foundation, implementing joint projects that support youth initiatives.

According to Oleh Meleshko, founder of the Hello, Ukraine Foundation, supporting young people and developing sport is not just a charitable activity, but an important part of the social adaptation of displaced persons and the restoration of Ukrainian communities. 

“Sport has an incredible power to bring people together, help overcome physical and psychological barriers, and build new relationships. This is especially important for young people who have faced displacement and life challenges due to the war,‘ Oleh noted. ’Therefore, the foundation is doing everything possible to promote the development of sports initiatives and create opportunities for active leisure for young Ukrainians.”

MORE THAN JUST A COMPETITION

The USFL International Youth Tournament was a true celebration of sport, team spirit and mutual support. Fierce matches unfolded on the pitch throughout the day. Spectators and fans created a unique atmosphere of support, cheering on all the players.

The tournament participants received not only valuable awards and prizes, but also a lot of positive emotions, new acquaintances and a sense of belonging to a large sports family. Many of them noted that it is such events that help them find like-minded people and feel part of the community.

The tournament in Lviv proved once again that football can unite even in the most difficult times, overcoming any barriers and creating space for dialogue, friendship and mutual support.
